Two numbered strips run down both sides of the reels in Pirate Treasure, 4, 6, 2, 8, 1, 9, 3, 7, 5, one tab per payline. There are only nine of them, and the paytable explains why that isn't as thin as it sounds: wins count from left to right and from right to left.

The board is a 5x3 grid on white scroll paper. Card ranks from 9 to A are drawn like old parchment, and the picture symbols are a ship's wheel, an anchor, a rolled treasure map and a pair of crossed cutlasses. The treasure chest has SCATTER written across it. Up top it's the usual Play8oy strip with SCORE and the GRAND, MAJOR, MINOR and MINI counters. In the first shot the bet is LINES 9, PLAY 10, TOTAL PLAY 90.

Here the bet was dropped to PLAY 7, so a spin costs 63. Three lines light up at once (9, 3 and 7) and the banner at the bottom says the total came to 182. The chest is sitting on reel four but doesn't seem to be part of it.

The paytable, and one oddity

The logo on this screen is spelled "Pirat's Treasure", which tells you something about how carefully it was put together. The numbers themselves are clear. Cutlasses pay 5000 for five, 500 for four, 100 for three, 10 for two and 2 for a single one. The map pays 2500 for five, and the wheel and anchor 1000 each. The cards run from 100 (9 and 10) up to 500 for five aces. The chest pays 100 for five, 10 for four and 5 for three, anywhere on the reels.

I didn't find a wild on this page. The old article said the pirate was wild and the scatter triggered free spins; neither shows up in these screens, so treat them as unconfirmed.

Does Pirate Treasure pay both ways?

Yes. The paytable says wins are paid separately from left to right and right to left, but a line of five identical symbols is only paid once.

Is the pirate the wild symbol?

The old page said so, but the paytable screenshot doesn't show a wild at all, so I can't confirm it.

Does the scatter trigger free spins?

The screenshots only show the chest paying 100, 10 and 5 for five, four and three. The free-spin rule the old page mentioned isn't visible.
