Inside XE88: the lobby and five of its slots
XE88 is one of the older Malaysian slot apps. Its lobby, its three-part jackpot bar and five of its games, described from real screens.
Under every game tile in the XE88 lobby there is a small grey box with a number in it. Touch Down shows 9027.38, Unicorns 3025.83, Bison Rampage 11552.04, the Oz game 10546.70 and Ancient Forest 9469.03. Those are the running jackpots per game, and they are the first thing regulars look at.
XE88 is a Malaysian-market slot app, run the same way as 918Kiss or Mega888: you get a username and password from an agent, and top-ups and cuci go through that agent in ringgit. There is no sign-up inside the app.
The home screen
The lobby runs sideways on the phone. Top left is your avatar, the username (blurred here) and BALANCE 100.00, with a row of five stars under it. The XE88 logo sits in the middle of the top bar, and to the right a scrolling ticker shows other players' wins (also blurred). A hamburger menu is in the corner.
Down the left edge runs a CATEGORIES tab. The first big tile is the live casino entry (blurred here), and the slot tiles carry red NEW! and flame-shaped HOT badges. The tiles in this capture are Touch Down (an American football helmet), Unicorns, Treasure Chase, Bison Rampage, an Oz game with an emerald city and Ancient Forest.
Along the bottom: a DAILY BONUS button with a 0/5 counter, SOCIAL, a big red SPECIAL BONUS panel reading 891,856.82, and a BONUS button with a red packet icon. The old page listed other favourites such as Red Bear, Golden Lotus and God of Wealth; they were not in the screenshots.
Five games, five layouts
African Wildlife has the classic cartoon XE88 look. The jackpot strip across the top shows MAJOR, RANDOM and MINOR. The symbols are safari kit (compass maps, a water flask, a pith helmet) plus a lion, a rhino and an explorer marked Bonus. In this spin the giraffe stretched into a full-reel Wild. The bottom bar reads LINE 50, LINES BET 2, TOTAL BET 100, WIN 98 and BALANCE 15876, with AUTO PLAY and SPIN buttons.
Note that the total bet is lines times bet per line. At 50 lines, one step up on LINES BET adds 50 to each spin.
Amazon throws out the reel idea. Eight round stone frames sit in a pyramid on a carved temple wall, holding a jaguar, a green snake, a monkey, a blue frog and two parrots. It runs on 9 lines at 10 each, TOTAL BET 90.
Ancient Forest looks like it came from a different studio altogether. Reels are staggered in a pyramid shape and the panels are thin and modern: BALANCE 92.57, MAJOR 646.78, RANDOM JACKPOT 4019.98, MINOR 564.75. The text line reads "50 Lines selected", "0.01 Bet per line" and "You won 0.10 on line 39". Bet 0.50 is set with red and green minus and plus buttons, next to purple AUTOPLAY and green SPIN.
Cocktail Party is all neon. The reels spell out P, A, R, T and Y between cocktail glasses and fruit, and a pink Wild shows up twice in this spin. Numbered line markers run down both sides. Here the bet is 1, total bet 25.
Fortune Panda has a bamboo frame, pandas on reels 2 and 3, and a Free Game gold ingot top left. The line toggle at the bottom switches between 25 and 50, and the label says "2 Bet per line" for a BET of 100.
Before you ask for an ID
Each game keeps its own jackpot bars, and nothing on these screens tells you the odds of hitting them. Treat the big numbers as decoration. The XE88 install notes cover getting the app safely onto Android or iPhone, and the platform list compares it with the others.
