Emperor Gate: a red-faced general who fills the middle reel

The general with the red face and black beard is the one to watch. In Emperor Gate he only ever lands on reel 3, and when he does he stretches down to cover the whole reel before anything is paid.

The title on screen reads 斬五門 above EMPEROR GATE, and the reels sit on parchment-coloured panels against a green board. Picture symbols are a younger general, a fortress gate tower, a gold ritual wine cup, a bound scroll, a red double door and the green 義 character. Coloured A, K, Q, J, 10 and 9 fill the gaps. Fifty numbered line markers run down both sides, which tells you what kind of game this is before you spin.

Reading the paytable

Every symbol box has two columns, the normal pay and a WITH column showing what it pays when the wild is part of the win. That second column is simply the first multiplied by three. The 義 character and the fortress both pay 3333 for five, or 9999 with the wild. The general portrait pays 333 for five, the scroll 333, A-K-Q 150 and J-10-9 99.

The red gate is the scatter, and its pays are multiplied by your total bet. Two gates pay 2, three start the feature, four give 9 plus the feature and five give 33 plus the feature. The paytable says the wild counts once on its reel for scatter purposes, and it can substitute for the scatter too. I didn't catch the feature itself in these screenshots, so I can't tell you what it plays like.

Bet panel and the Gamble button

The bottom bar has Lines, BET with down and up arrows, a BET and WIN box, then AUTO and SPIN. In the main shot it's 50 lines at 0.10, which is 5.00 a spin.

At 0.01 a line the spin drops to 0.50. After this small 0.03 win on line 17, the AUTO button turned into GAMBLE. The screenshots don't show what the gamble round looks like.
