NTC33: game IDs, the two lobby layouts and what's inside

Two things repeat across every NTC33 screenshot I went through for this guide. A dark bar along the top with the lobby sections (SLOTS, TABLE & CARDS, ARCADE, SCRATCH, LIVE DEALERS, PROGRESSIVE GAMES), and a balance in MYR or RM somewhere near the bottom left. Once you know those two, the rest of the app is just a long list of individual games.

NTC33 also goes by NewTown Casino. The client looks a lot like the desktop casino software Playtech supplied to operators for years, and several of the games are Playtech titles you'll know from other apps. That's worth knowing when you look up a game online: a review of "the original" may not match the version and settings you get here.

How you get in

NTC33 isn't something you sign up for on a website. In Malaysia you get a game ID and password from an agent, then install the app. It isn't in Google Play or the App Store, so the install means allowing apps from outside the store on Android, and the old site also offered a Windows version. Money goes through the agent too. You top up, usually by bank transfer (some agents take e-wallets), and they load credit onto your ID. Withdrawals, the cuci, go back the same way. So the agent is the part you're really trusting, not the app. Before your first top-up, ask how long a cuci takes and if there's a minimum, and start with an amount you'd be fine never seeing again until one has gone through.

Two lobby layouts

You'll notice two versions of the top bar in the screenshots. The older one reads GAMES, SLOTS, TABLE & CARDS, ARCADE, SCRATCH, LIVE DEALERS and PROGRESSIVE GAMES. The newer one, seen in the Age of the Gods games, reads Games, New Games, Classic Slots, Video Slots, Table Games and Progressive Games. Same app, different generations of game.

The slots also come with two kinds of bet panel. Older games use LINES and LINE BET with minus and plus buttons, then BET MAX, AUTO PLAY and SPIN. Newer ones cut that down to a COIN or TOTAL BET box with AUTO and TURBO. In both, check the TOTAL BET box, not the line bet, before you spin.

A tour of the games

Start with the plain slots. Dragon Kingdom is a good example of the older panel: 20 lines, MYR0.01 a line, a floating-castle scatter for 15 free games and an odd SPLIT symbol. Egypt Spin uses the newer layout with 50 lines and lets you choose between three free spin deals.

If you want something small, Chao Ji 888 is a three-reel machine with one symbol and a paytable of x8, x88 and x888. Cash Blox isn't a slot at all: blocks fall into a well and you're paid for cleared lines, with prices printed for singles up to quads.

The progressive side is where NTC33 looks busiest. The Age of the Gods games, such as Prince of Olympus, carry four shared counters across the top, with the biggest, Ultimate Power, sitting around RM500,000 in the screenshots. Five Tiger Generals has a different setup: a ladder of five smaller pots, one per general, won with five of a kind, at RM3 a spin in the shots we have.

Then there are the live dealers. Live roulette runs on single-zero tables at RM4 - RM15,000, and it refuses a bet under the minimum. Live blackjack has seven-seat tables with Perfect Pairs and 21+3 side bets, from RM20 or RM50 a hand up to RM200. That's a different level of spending from one-cent slot lines, so go in knowing it.

Before you play

The old version of this page promised you could "bet big and win big" and talked up the dealers' looks. None of that tells you anything useful, so it's gone. What matters: you're playing through an unregulated agent, the app comes from outside the official stores, and there's no one to complain to if a cuci doesn't arrive.
