3 Kingdom Dragon Boat: betting on a six-boat race

The top of the screen is a cartoon general with a huge head, standing in front of a dragon-prowed boat, with a vertical label reading 劉備 (Liu Bei) beside him. The bottom half is where you actually bet, and it takes a minute to decode.

As far as I can tell, it works like a pairs board. Across the top of the grid are boat numbers 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and down the side 1 to 5. Each cell is a pairing with its own payout: 1 with 6 pays 80, 1 with 5 pays 175, 1 with 4 only 3, 1 with 3 pays 250, and 2 with 4 pays 1000. The odds jump around a lot, so the low numbers are presumably the likely pairs and the four-figure cell is a long shot. The small number under each payout is how many chips you've put on it.

Then the race. Six boats full of little helmeted rowers cross a river, and the first two boats home appear to decide which cell pays. The last result on my capture was 1 and 4, and that cell lit up.

On the left are three extra boxes, 庄 Banker x2, 和 Tie x9 and 闲 Player x2, which borrow baccarat language for a simpler bet on the race. Chips come in 1, 5 and 10. Beside the total bet you'll see Free Dragon and "Jackpot x3 x4 x5", but the board doesn't explain those, so look in Game Help before counting on them. A results panel on the right lists the last rounds, handy if you like to see what's been coming up, though past races don't change the next one.
