Belangkai on SKY777, the bowl-and-board game on a phone

A big steel bowl drops over the board, you hear the rattle, and then it lifts. That's the whole ritual, and SKY777 keeps it.

Belangkai is the shaker game a lot of us first saw at a pasar malam or a family gathering around Chinese New Year. The app version is a green felt board split into zones, each with a picture, and the payout printed inside the zone so you don't have to guess.

From my captures I can make out a fish, a lizard, a flower and a horseshoe crab. The corners and side zones are marked 2.90, the middle of the top and bottom edges shows 3.90, and the small squares nearer the centre read 1.95. I'd open Game Help from the menu before betting to see exactly which combination each number covers, because the board uses shared edges and corners, a bit like a roulette split bet.

On the left side sit the chips (1 is selected here), with an arrow to scroll to bigger values. On the right: a red Deal button, a green button that looks like a reset or rebet, and Clear. The Bet Limit box at the top said MIN 1, MAX 250 on this table. A Bet History strip next to it shows the results of previous rounds as small pictures.

It's quick. A round is a bet, a shake, a reveal. That speed is the thing to watch, because it's easy to do fifty rounds without noticing.
