Betting on the Monkey King and eleven rivals

The first time I opened this I kept looking for the reels. There aren't any.

What you get instead is a board of cartoon heads from the Monkey King legend, each with a small number box next to it for your chips. Twelve characters in all, in three colour rows. There are side boxes marked P and T too, which the rules call Banker, Tie and Player. Pick a chip size, tap the heads you want, and press CONFIRM. The other buttons along the bottom are the history clock, LAST RESULT, CLEAR SPOT, REBET and CLEAR ALL.

Then the screen changes to a ring of portraits around a cloud, and the game lights one up. In my capture the Monkey King is zooming across on his cloud, next to a medallion showing 40.

Reading the rules screen

The red rules page is short. Twelve character bets. Side bets on Banker, Tie and Player. If the result lands on the bonus symbol, you get a shot at a Match Bonus: a guaranteed prize with a multiplier of x1, x2, x3, x4 or x5, except on the banker, tie or player bets. The last line says the Monkey King turns into Super Monkey and wins all fights.

The screens don't show the odds for each character, so check the payouts in the info page before you spread chips across the board. Covering many heads at once feels safe but each losing chip is still gone.
