Highway Kings: big rigs, spark plugs and a 10000 red truck

Five pistons in a row along the bottom line, at one sen a line, paid RM4.00. That's the spin I'd point to if someone asked what Highway Kings is about: small stakes, simple truck-shop symbols, and lines that pay from either end.

The reels are white tiles on a blue background, with a red rig and a green rig parked either side of the HIGHWAY KINGS logo. The symbols are a steering wheel, a tyre, a piston, a pair of red dice, a spark plug, a fuel pump, a red jerry can, and green, yellow and red trucks. Only 9 lines, numbered down both sides.

Reading the Highway Kings paytable

Everything fits on one screen. Wheel and tyre pay 50, 10 and 3. Piston and dice pay 200, 25 and 5. Spark plug and fuel pump pay 300, 50 and 10, and also 2 for two of a kind. The jerry can and green truck pay 1000, the yellow truck 5000, and the red truck 10000 for five, with pays for two and even one red truck (10 and 2).

The note at the top says it plainly: "All lines pay either from left to right or right to left." The WILD is a small truck in a circle that only lands on reels 2, 3 and 4 and doubles the win it helps with. The SCATTER is a round red badge. Three, four or five on reels 1 to 3 or 3 to 5 give 10, 15 or 25 free games plus 5, 10 or 100 times the bet.

Both ways in practice

Five pistons pay 200, so at RM0.01 that's RM2.00, which is what the small LINES 3 box shows. The total WIN reads 4.00. My reading is that a full five-of-a-kind line counts once from each end, but I only have this one example, so don't bank on it.
