The Love Boat: a 70s TV cruise slot, told without the cast photos

The panel on the right side of The Love Boat is the odd bit. It's labelled "The Dream Cruise Jackpot", shows €10 000, has a countdown in days, hours, minutes and seconds, a ticket count and a last winning ticket number, and the draw date reads Thursday 24 Jan 2019. That's a time-limited promo from years back, priced in euros, not ringgit. Ignore it.

No screenshots here, by the way. The game is licensed from the old TV series, and the round portrait symbols are photos of the real cast, so I've kept them off the page.

The reels themselves are pastel purple with a wooden deck underneath and a small plane trailing a rainbow above the logo. Most of the symbols are white cut-outs: hearts, lifebuoys, a pair of champagne glasses and a luggage tag with a heart on it. The coloured ones are a brass ship's telegraph dial marked STOP, CRUISE and BONUS, a red cruise ship with WILD on it, and the cast portraits.

Two banners tell you what matters. One says five of the pictured symbol pay 3000x your line bet; the icon is tiny, but it looks like the telegraph dial. The other says the symbol on reels 1, 3 and 5 triggers the Matchup Bonus. In one capture a line 22 win of RM0.50 plus another small line adds up to RM1.

Watch the line bet. With 25 lines, RM0.05 a line is RM1.25 a spin, which is where most of the screenshots sit. In the first one, someone had pushed it to RM1 a line, RM25 a spin, and the game answered with "INSUFFICIENT BALANCE FOR THE REQUESTED BET". The plus button moves in bigger jumps than you'd think.
