Monkey Slot is really Funky Monkey, a one-line classic

The lobby calls it Monkey Slot. The machine itself says Funky Monkey, in yellow letters over a grinning monkey in pink sunglasses and a purple jacket.

This is the old-school kind: a single cabinet in the middle of the screen with two more peeking in at the sides, three reels, and one payline down the centre. The paytable is printed on the glass above the reels, three columns for one, two or three coins.

Reading it top to bottom, the top line pays 800, 1600 or 2500 depending on how many coins you played, and the bottom line, any three BARs mixed, pays 10, 20 or 30. In between are fruit, huts, and the 1BAR, 2BAR and 3BAR sets. So that third coin matters. The top prize jumps by 900 instead of 800.

The buttons under the reels are what you'd find on a real machine: a small bet selector with arrows, BET ONE, BET TWO and BET MAX. The Mega888 bar at the very bottom adds CURRENT BALANCE and AUTO PLAY. Side panels read "Play 1 to 3 coins" and "Insert coins".

My balance went from 101.82 to 101.07 over seven spins at one coin. Slow, but that's the point of a one-liner.
