The part of Iceland I actually remember is the consolation prize.

Most slots on Mega888 give you free games and shrug if they come up empty. This one has a rule page called the Win-Win Feature that pays out when the free round is a dud. Hit nothing at all and you still get 100 times your bet. Get a little and it tops you up on a sliding scale.

Getting to the free games

The igloo is the scatter. Three or more from the left start the Triple Wild Feature, which on this engine gives 9 free games. During those games the polar bear wild copies itself onto one or two more reels before the win is counted, and extra igloos can start the round again.

The base game is plain: snowy owls, penguins, a walrus, an orca and a grey wolf, plus the usual 9 to A in bright colours. It is 50 lines, compulsory, so the bet box just moves the stake per line. In my screenshots that was 0.02 a line for a 1.00 spin, and 0.01 a line for 0.50.

The Gamble War button

After a win a round GAMBLE button with a dice icon turns up in the corner. It opens a BIG or SMALL card game against a banker card, with five steps from x2 up to x10. Lose the guess and the win is gone, so I leave it alone.

What happens if the free games pay almost nothing?

The Win-Win page says that if the free-games total is 10 times your bet or less, you get a top-up: 100x bet for no win at all, 8x for up to 2x, 3x for up to 5x and 2x for up to 10x.

Can I play fewer than 50 lines?

No. The rules page lists 50 compulsory lines per game, so only the bet per line changes.
