Magic Slots, the three-reel machine with a wand bonus
An old-school three-reel slot with dice, bars and magician hats. The paytable sits right above the reels, and the bonus only counts on max bet.
The first thing I noticed was the paytable. It is printed right on the machine, above the reels, so there is no info page to dig through.
Three reels, one line across the middle, and three fat yellow buttons underneath: BET ONE, BET TWO and BET MAX. The coin value sits on a gold disc on the left (RM1.25 in these shots) with minus and plus arrows either side, and a little scroll above it keeps score of the bet and the last win.
Reading the table
The columns are the one, two and three coin payouts. Three magician hats pay 1000 and 2000, and in the third column the word JACKPOT replaces the number. Below that come the stars (500 / 1000 / 1500), the dice (200 / 400 / 600), then triple, double and single bars. Mixed bars still pay 10, 20 or 30, and even one die anywhere on the line gives you 2, 4 or 6 coins back.
So the third coin matters. The playing card on the right says to collect three magic wands to play the bonus game, and a small note under it adds "only if bet max is played". The progressive jackpot figure runs along the strip under the reels; it read RM40,212.96 when these were taken.
At RM1.25 a coin, max bet is RM3.75 a spin, which adds up faster than it looks on a three-reel game. Pick your coin size before you start pressing BET MAX out of habit.

Only if you care about the extras. The card on the right says the bonus game counts only when bet max is played, and the jackpot column in the paytable is the third-coin column.
What pays on a single die?
The bottom row of the paytable reads 'any 1' die: 2, 4 or 6 coins depending on whether you played one, two or three coins.
