Samurai Hero: a cartoon dojo with a wave-painted wild

Most of Live22's samurai games go for dark, serious art. This one doesn't. The characters in Samurai Hero are chibi cartoons with big heads: a sleepy geisha holding a fan, a scowling samurai, a round sumo wrestler, a little black ninja, and a red oni mask with white hair. The low symbols are weapons (crossed katanas on a stand, silver shuriken) instead of card letters, which I like, because the screen reads as one picture instead of a grid of As and Ks.

The paper-screen walls behind the reels have coloured line tabs down both edges, numbered up to 25.

The red torii gate marked BONUS turned up on reel five in the idle shot. I never caught it doing anything, so I won't guess what it opens.

Three geishas across the first reels paid 51 on a 25 bet. The line shows up as a thin red trace across the paper.

The WILD is the one to hope for. It fills a whole reel with a blue Japanese wave pattern, and when two of those stacks landed next to each other the win went to 180. That is the top picture on this page.
