Golden Island: pirates, gold cups and a Mystery Scatter

The skull in the red pirate hat is the symbol I look for first. On the paytable, five of him pays 5000, which is more than double what the lady captain pays (2000) and miles above the gold cups and coin piles that fill most of the reels.

Golden Island is set on the deck of a ship: wooden rails and blue sky past the masts, with the 20 numbered lines marked on red pillars either side of the reels. The low symbols are treasure rather than card letters, which I prefer. You get goblets, a compass, a jewelled ring, a teapot, a treasure box and a stack of coins.

The two scatter ideas

The ship card with SCATTER written across it is doing two jobs. The paytable says it substitutes for all symbols, and on its own it pays 200 for five, 20 for four and 2 for three.

Then there is the Mystery Scatter. The rules panel shows a row of face-down tiles with an arrow to a symbol, and the note reads that you select one and it becomes the Mystery Scatter. The second diagram shows that symbol stretching down the full height of the reels. In plain terms, you choose which picture turns into the reel-filler. I haven't seen a screenshot of it landing, so I can't tell you how often it comes round.

The bottom bar is standard Joker123: LINES 20, PLAY with minus and plus (0.01 GP in every capture here), TOTAL PLAY 0.20 GP, WIN, and SPIN, which you hold down for auto spin. The MAJOR, RANDOM and MINOR counters sit across the top and change between every screenshot.
